Denver Massage Parlors: Prostitution ringleader gets jail term

Michelle Schramm was accused of being the ringleader of the organization, which operated at massage parlors in Arapahoe County, Edgewater and Northglenn. She pleaded guilty last year to one count of the 33-count indictment against her.
At her sentencing hearing Friday in federal court in Denver, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tim Neff argued that Schramm should be sentenced to eight months in prison, saying she was involved in the “flagrant operation of a brothel.” Schramm housed some prostitutes at her home, and she purchased condoms in bulk, according to the details of her plea agreement.

The investigation centered on three massage parlors: the Bali Spa on South Parker Road in Arapahoe County, the Malley Spa in Northglenn and the Green Garden Spa in Edgewater. According to her plea agreement, Schramm staffed the spas with a rotating roster of prostitutes. The prostitutes would split the profits 50-50 with Schramm, according to the document.

David Anderson, 22, can only find work washing sheets at a Lawrenceville massage parlor. Kalynn Littleton may take on $40,000 in grad school debt to one day, hopefully, land a job in the hospitality industry.
“It’s very scary, especially the thought of not getting the best job out of college,” said Littleton, 20, from Sylvester in South Georgia. “I have dreams and plans, but I’m not really sure I’ll get there or where I’ll land.”

MESA, Ariz. – Police said the man they arrested in connection with the stabbing of a massage parlor owner told them he had survived the Columbine shooting.
Mesa police arrested James Johnson, who told them that he went to Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999 and survived the shooting rampage. Investigators said Johnson told them he’s been in and out of trouble ever since.
Police said Johnson stabbed 42-year-old Xiaohong Fu to death inside the Taiwan Massage Parlor. The suspect was described as an Asian man who fled the scene in a white pickup truck.
Police later investigated a robbery at a Gilbert tree lot and tracked a suspect vehicle to Johnson.

Feds raid Denver metro massage parlors
DENVER. — Federal agents raided at least two Denver metro area massage parlors Friday, shutting both of them down. The Blue Pine Spa in Parker and the Relaxing Spa in Northglenn were both targeted.
“I saw a line of police officers or federal agents walking across and I just looked out and was wondering what was going on and I seen them walking into the spa,” said Adrian McGregor, who witnessed the bust in Northglenn.

“I never really felt it was a legitimate massage parlor,” said Heather Maples of the Blue Pine Spa. “You know we had a lot of questions… about what was going on next door. So it is kind of a relief to have it settled and hopefully get on with doing real business.”

DENVER – The U.S. Attorney’s office and other law enforcement agencies raided two massage parlors in the metro area on Friday afternoon.
The U.S. Attorney’s office, the IRS, Lakewood Police and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at the Blue Pine Spa in Parker and at the Relaxing Spa in Northglenn.
Jiwoong Doh is listed as the owner of the Blue Pine Spa in Parker. He told 9NEWS he didn’t know why investigators would be at his business.
9NEWS talked to Doh by phone. He said he was in the process of selling his business. Doh says someone else has been running the day to day operations. He would not give the name of that person.

Eric Dowe is a manager at the Appliance Store next door to the massage parlor in Parker. He says the raid did not surprise him.

Denver Massage Parlors: Massage Therapist Accused Of Inappropriate Touching

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Two women have accused the 46-year-old owner of a massage parlor in Broomfield of inappropriate touching.
The clients reported to Broomfield police on Oct. 14 that Shouchun Han, owner of Spring Massage, sexually assaulted them during prior massage sessions.
Hans was arrested that day and taken to Broomfield Detention Center for investigation of unlawful sexual contact and sexual assault, Broomfield police said.
Spring Massage is located at 6650 W. 120th Ave.
