Linton, whose spine was ruined in a 2002 auto accident, has been performing for PHAMALy since 2005, winning both the Denver Post Ovation Award (”Man of La Mancha”) and the Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Award (”Side Show”) for best actress in a musical.
Not best actress in a wheelchair. Best actress, period. “And we have others who are just as talented,” Wilson said.
In “La Mancha,” Linton played the prostitute Aldonza. Now she’s playing LeFou — a man with a lisp. “And you wouldn’t know it was the same actor,” Wilson said.
