A three-day federal and state effort to rescue children forced into prostitution has resulted in 52 children being rescued and dozens of pimps being arrested nationwide, the FBI said today.
In the Denver metropolitan area, more than 15 prostitution-related arrests were made by five local police departments working with the FBI, according to special agent Kathleen Wright of the Denver FBI office.
Wright said a total of 26 arrests were made in the metropolitan area on a variety of charges, although no juveniles working as prostitutes were rescued or identified.
The FBI said that in addition to the recovery of 52 children, 691 people, including 60 pimps, were arrested on state and local charges.
