DENVER – A 71-year-old woman from Houston was sentenced to three years probation after she pleaded guilty to hiring prostitutes at her day spa and profiting from them.

Yong Gates pleaded guilty to organizing prostitution back in December, but entered a plea deal to pay a $2,000 fine and serve probation, including six months of home detention, according to a statement from ICE Office of Public Affairs.
According to prosecutors, the prostitution ring began in December 2001 and continued through August 2003. Documents say Gates worked to employ prostitutes at her day spa in Longmont, Colorado.
Gates later admitted that Sun Health Spa generated much of its revenue from prostitution.
In addition, prosecutors say Gates concealed prostitution money total over $26,000 and deposited the funds into her bank account in amounts less than $10,000 to go around currency reporting requirements.
